Maxwell Medical Imaging

Maxwell Medical Imaging

A complex medical imaging center featuring state-of-the-art equipment in a storefront space in the World Trade Center district, the space was fully built, and then destroyed on 9/11; it has only recently reopened. The space features independent circulation for patients and staff, abundant light and glass, and extensive custom maple cabinetry, all employed to enhance the patient experience. The space is designed to resemble an art gallery or spa, with avant-garde design, spare lines and crisp materials. The interior design addresses the imaging center's focus on light and penetrating views by creating opportunities for the visitor to experience layers of light and shadow, peering through and around surfaces of wood, glass, and white walls.
