This landmarked home with its fine original Federal style woodwork originally sported a shallow hipped slate roof. The owner's need for more space led to the solution of raising the roof, changing its configuration to a gable with a rear-facing she and rebuilt yankee gutters. Salvaged slate was reused, and extreme care went into replicating existing moldings and trim. Inside, the existing stair was extended, creating a dramatic three-story hall with the new stair floating inside. The work also included a renovated kitchen and family room/breakfast area.
